NEC CEO joins the BATF Board

19 December 2012

The British Allied Trades Federation (formerly the British Jewellery, Giftware and Finishing Federation) are pleased to announce that, Paul Thandi, has been co-opted to the BATF Board. Mike Hughes, President of BATF commented:

“I am pleased to welcome a major stakeholder to the Federation, Paul’s expertise and business acumen will be a great addition to the Board.”

Paul is Chief Executive of the NEC Group, which operates the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and LG Arena, in Solihull, and the International Convention Centre (ICC) and National Indoor Arena (NIA), in Birmingham. As Chief Executive of the NEC Group, Paul leads the Executive Board of the UK’s largest and most high profile venue management company.

The BATF has always had a close relationship with the NEC since it first opened in 1976 with the International Spring Fair which filled all the Halls at the NEC at that time.

A statement issued by Paul Thandi:

“It was an honour to be asked to join the Board of the BATF. To serve its members and its constituents will be a great pleasure and something I look forward to. The trades represented are part of the fabric of The NEC Group, West Midlands and the national UK economy, therefore, having a higher degree of involvement in their future is important to me”.
