Sipping cocktails at The Oxo Tower Bar bar is always guaranteed to deliver a bit of feel good factor. Now that particular feeling has gone into overdrive with a rather tasty collaboration. Thanks to a unique addition to the menu cocktail lovers can do their bit for a good cause, while at the same time giving themselves the chance of winning an exclusive gold ring worth £16,000. Yes we did say £16,000.
The cocktail you need to be ordering is the Disa Goddess. Not only is the combination of gin, vanilla steeped Earl Grey tea, rhubarb liqueur, fresh raspberries and champagne really rather delicious, but every single one served up also sees £1 heading towards the Fairtrade Foundation. And while sipping away the imbiber is entered into a draw to win a bespoke gold ring.
This extremely luxurious piece of jewellery has been designed by London-based jeweller, Anna Loucah, one of the UK’s first Fairtrade gold licence holders. Ethical gemstone producer, Gemfields, has supplied a spectacular 41ct Zambian amethyst gemstone, with diamonds from Jeweltree Foundation, sponsored by Open Source Minerals. The gold used in the piece has been donated from Hockley Mint and is sourced from Sotrami, a Fairtrade certified mine in Peru, and VIPA Designs has supplied the Fairtrade Platinum.
The ring is currently on display at the OXO Tower Bar and the winner will be drawn at a drinks reception in mid February.
