The Singapore international Jewellery Expo 2017 (SIJE) returns to Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre on July 6th 2017.

SIJE 2017 gathers leading jewellers from jewellery capitals of the world to celebrate the love of jewellery and showcase an array of breathtaking rare gemstones and some of the most stunning statement jewellery creations. It will be the largest consumer and trade jewellery showcase in the region, attracting over 13,000 visitors from 60 countries.

Singapore resides at the hub of ASEAN, which comprises ten countries – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.  In December 2015, these countries formed the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). This now represents with a a market of 625 million people with a combined GDP of US$2.5 trillion (2014).  ASEAN, as a single economy is forecast to become the fourth largest economy in the world by 20130.

Following the UK’s decision to leave the European Union and the current weakness of sterling against other world currencies, participating in SIJE 2017 will be a massive opportunity for British jewellery companies to export their goods and services to this region of the world.
