Company Overview

Talented makes customisable and sustainable souvenirs for tourists with taste, designed by our Founder, Company Director and Map Maker Extraordinaire: Julia Gash.  We were launched in 2012 and are growing at a rate of 25% year on year.  Over 50% sales are for international markets and we market our brand at international lifestyle and gift shows in the UK, US, Europe and Asia. Stockists include The London Eye, The National Gallery of Art, Paperchase, Weird Fish, Arc De Triumph. Our core markets are the museums and heritage industry sector, tourism and lifestyle/gift stores. 

The Talented brand was incubated within the eco-bag manufacturer Bag It Don’t Bin It Ltd (BIDBI) and has been operating as a stand-alone company: Made By Talented Ltd, from July 2015.  We employ 8 people from a dedicated office and warehouse in the industrial heart of Sheffield.

Talented and Julia Gash are ethically inspired brands and support a green and clean supply chain. Julia’s whimsical illustrations are printed onto souvenirs that use natural materials and are mostly printed and/or made in the UK or at an ethically audited factory. 


Job Description

We have a vacancy for an experienced Sales Account Manager to manage our Museum, Heritage and Tourist Attraction accounts, which is our largest sales field. Duties are primarily sales driven and responsibilities include formulating your sales strategies within your targeted market, managing your daily sales activities including calling customers daily, visiting customers periodically, attending trade shows and recording and tracking enquiries and orders on Sage CRM. You will report to and maintain a dialogue with the Company Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales

  • Managing and growing existing customer base of the Museums, Heritage and Tourist Attraction accounts
  • Achieve sales operational objectives by contributing to sales information and take the initiative to make recommendations to current strategic plans.
  • Be proactive in establishing costing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring marginal costs to make each sale count and monitoring the competition.
  • Accomplish sales objectives by planning, merchandising, and event-manage at trade fairs; developing your field sales action plans.
  • Relentlessly Identify marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
  • Sustain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Provide information to the Company Director by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Person Specification

  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure and plan ahead.
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to develop, monitor and maintain financial and operational systems and procedures.
  • Complex problem solving and effective decision making abilities
  • Ability to create marketing concepts, sales planning and nurture good client as well as team relationships
  • 2+ years experience within the tourism or home/gift lifestyle retail industry sector.

Salary: £24,000

  • Position is full time: 40 hours per week. 
  • A quarterly, bonus related to percentage increase on individual target success is in place.
  • A pension scheme will be in place from October 2017.
  • Talented will offer training in all aspects of work.
  • Annual leave is 20 days per annum pro rata, plus named bank holidays
