BJGI has been made aware of the introduction of Anti Dumping Duties (ADD) on ceramic tiles made in China being imported into the European Union. Earlier this year a provisional ADD of 73% was introduced effective from 18 Mar 11, with some manufacturers getting a reduced rate.
The European Commission has concluded its investigation and announced the definitive rate to be applied from 16 Sep 11. The basic rate is now 69.7% with some suppliers, listed in the regulation, receiving a reduced rate. These rates will remain in place for 5 years.
The definitive anti-dumping duty is imposed on imports of glazed and unglazed ceramic flags and paving, hearth or wall tiles; glazed and unglazed ceramic mosaic cubes and the like, whether or not on a backing, currently falling within CN codes:
