Rebecca Gough, International Services Manager at the British Jewellery & Giftware International met with Mark Garnier, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department for International Trade during a recent visit to Ambiente.
Rebecca commented "This was a great opportunity for Mark Garnier to see first-hand how important the Trade Show Access programme is to SME’s in the consumer goods sector, as well as giving BJGI the platform to express the importance of the government providing a stable, consistent and properly funded tradeshow access programme (TAP) to ensure that new and existing UK small and medium sized enterprises either start or continue to exhibit at overseas tradeshows and thus bring the UK export orders. We requested a larger programme for our sector that allows the UK to compete with our major rivals, and is drawn up on a three year rolling basis. The discussion was positive and gave BJGI the opportunity to showcase the strong links between trade associations and industry."
Ambiente is one of the most important consumer goods fairs internationally and for the 2017 edition The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland had the honour of being partner country.
The ensured increased exposure for UK companies exhibiting at the fair with enhanced marketing and special presentations all focussed on the UK. In addition to the Messe organised events there was a strong programme which was organised by British Jewellery and Giftware International and the Department for International Trade (more information can be found on the Ambiente post show report).
